Transite is a name commonly given to asbestos concrete products. Many buildings and homes built prior to the 60’s used asbestos transite shingles and siding. It’s use on residential homes tends to be more common in the northeast, although it has been widely used in every state. Another use of transite panels is to place them in the lower frame of windows in schools and other public buildings. These panels are also used in large cooling towers of commerical and industrial facilities.
American Abatement has removed these asbestos transite products on many projects for a variety of customers, including homeowners.
